My Creative Process: Start to Finish

Everyone has their own creative process on how the make their art or designs. Whether it be just drawing your own imagination, practicing with a still life or getting inspiration from nature or other artists, everyone has their own process that works for them that helps get the juices flowing. For me I have so many Pinterest boards with different styles, techniques, genres and moods that when I do a project I look

through my boards that I feel fit with my current project and get my ideas from there. This is how I started with my own logo for Amaceying Odds and Ends. I searched and tried plenty of different fonts online and on Pinterest and found a few that I really liked and was able to combine some of the characteristics from those fonts and handwrite my own style. After a few tries I came up with this:

Then I scanned in my hand sketch into Adobe Illustrator to make it more clean and crisp. And started to have some fun with how I would design around it. As well as what sub text would look good with my newly designed logo.

Once I figured out what I want for my logo I needed to make stencils of different colors and inverse colors, so I would have options for whatever I wanted my logo on and it would still be visible with what ever background it was on.

And I added it to my watercolor back ground and... Viola! My finished product! Now that I have a logo that can work for my social media pages as well as a sticker for products, I no longer have to worry about changing my logo and making it universal, I just have to simply choose which color and outline I want. It's a win win!
